Fala moçada!

As a youngster DJ Nuts became mesmerized by the rapidly increasing São Paulo hip hop scene in the late eighties, and began DJ'ing in '91 while still in school. By 2000 he was crowned the tuntablist champion of Brasil. As a producer he has done albums for the biggest name in Brazilian hip hop, Marcelo D2 (Sony Music), and has also worked with Brazilian music legends Gilberto Gil, Planet Hemp, João Donato, Trio Mocotó, O Rappa and Dom Um Romão. He was the main Brazilian consultant and DJ alongside Cut Chemist, J-Rocc, Madlib in São Paulo for "Brasilintime: Batucada com Discos" – B+’s (Mochilla) sequel to the documentary Keepintime. "Cultura Copia" was released in 2004 as DJ Nuts’ first commercially available Mix CD outside of Brazil with 54 tracks cut, mixed and blended to perfection showcasing a range of styles. "it is the perfect introduction to Brazilian music for those who have never experienced its diversity or for those who think they have but have never heard a Brazilian perspective…perhaps the first brain freeze from a third world perspective." He has since released a 78 minute mix ofcompositions and arrangements by Arthur Verocai. His skills matched with the wisdom of his crates make him unique in his home country and worldwide. In every set Nuts pays tribute to the music that has inspired him including obscure Brazilian Funk, Jazz, Soul, Samba, Bossa Nova, and Tropicalia. - FACEBOOK INVITATION
